Emily will be a sophomore this coming Fall at Colorado College (Colorado Springs, CO) for head coach Geoff Bennett .Beans, who scored 13 goals her rookie season to help Colorado College reach the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1991, has added another honor to her list of post-season accolades. Beans is one of 22 players nationwide named this week to Soccer America’s All-Freshman squads for the 2006 campaign.
Emily Beans, who earned Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors last fall while helping Colorado College reach the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament for the first time in 15 years, has accepted an invitation to attend an elite evaluation camp for the United States National Under-20 Team
During her prep career she fiinished as one if the all-time career goal-scoring leaders in the state of Illinois with 152 goals and 53 assists in four seasons at Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, Illinois
She was team captain her last three years there, striking for 48 goals as a senior in 2006 when she earned all-state honors.She was named Prep Soccer Player of the Year in 2004 and in 2006 by the South Suburbs Times.
She played her club soccer as a member of America’s Soccer Club Team (out of Griffth, IN) . She was involved in the Indiana Olympic Development Program for five years (2000-04).
Emily intends to major in biology, specializing in genetics at CC. She enjoys playing the French horn in her leisure time.
