Joined the Mariners for the first time in 1998 and scored the winning goal in the team’s 3-2 win over D.C.United in the inaugural match at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. Played in Virginia Beach through 1999 scoring 8 goals and 5 assists. Signed with Nashville Metros for 2000 season, scoring 14 goals in 24 games. Signed with Minnesota Thunder in 2002, scoring 8 goals and 5 assists in 25 matches. He finished his 2006 Mariner season with 4 goals and 3 assists in 20 games. He still stands ninth in all-time career goals with 42 at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky. His team won the NAIA National Championship in 1996 where he was the top scorer and named an All-American.Played with AGF Aarhus from 1989-1994, ranking first in scoring for four straight years. Fenger was also selected as an All-American during his high school career.
