Marcus is a native of Ft. Worth, TX and graduated from Fossil Ridge HS where he was accomplished football quarterback and an All-Area soccer standout. He played for the Club Dallas SC.
He began his collegiate career at Memphis and transferred to NIU in DeKalb, IL for his final two years of eligibility.
In his 2006 college season Marcus was the leading scorer for NIU (15-6-1 and #24 in Final 2006 Polls) with 11G - 5 A and resulted in being named to the All-Region Squad in the Great Lakes Region.
