Ryan will be a sophomore this coming Fall (2007) for the the University of Dayton and 3rd-season head coach Dennis Currier . He is a native of Nottingham, England.
He was a starting defender in 17 matches during the 2006 season U of D. He was one of three Flyers to start all 17 games and was named to the A-10’s Honorable Mention Team.
Handbury earned a spot on the 2006 All-Ohio Second Team given out by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.
During his high school days in England he in a club setting, playing for the prestigious Nottingham Forest Academy, He was the talented center-back has been called up to England’s U18 National Team three times.He will be playing for both the Fire Premier Super-20s as well as the PDL - Chicago Fire Premier
Ryan is the son of Michelle and Chris Handbury and majoring in Sport Management at the University of Dayton.
