Gucciardi is currently on leave from the San Francisco Seals of United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League and has headed off to Cape Town, Africa, home of the 2010 World Cup. He is expected to return in July for the second half of the Seals season.

4/21 USL-1 Round-Up: The Carolina RailHawks made their debut Saturday night with a 1-1 draw against Minnesota and the defending regular season champion Montreal Impact rallied from a two-goal deficit created by former striker Dan Antoniuk for a 2-2 draw in Atlanta. In the west, the defending champion Whitecaps opened with a 1-0 win over rival Seattle and former Sounder Andrew Gregor scored twice for Portland on free kicks in a 3-1 win over Puerto Rico.

4/21 USL-2 Round-Up: The defending champion Richmond Kickers opened the 2007 regular season with a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Kings in front of 3,426. Wilmington stunned Harrisburg with a strike in the first minute, but an early second half goal left the match a 1-1 draw for the two sides.

Friday Round-Up: The 2005 USL-2 Champion and 2006 runners-up Charlotte Eagles gave expansion Crystal Palace Baltimore a rude welcome with a 4-1 defeat in the League Opener Friday night... Meanwhile, the Charleston Battery and Minnesota Thunder played to a scoreless stalemate on Fox Soccer Channel (replay at 11:00 pm ET Friday night) in USL-1 action.
