 Bio:

Solid central defender that can adapt to play anywhere in the defense. He played college soccer with Southern Methodist University of the NCAA Division I. He was a starting defender all four years. In 2003, he was named to the MVC All-Freshmen Team. He was named team captain his last two seasons. In 2005, he scored six goals and one assist. He was recognized with the All-Conference USA First Team and All-America Third Team honors. In 2006, he scored 3 goals and 3 assists for a total of 9 points as a defender. He was the 2006 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy Award. He played Premier Development League soccer with Dallas Fort Worth Tornados. Needham was drafted by MLS side DC United in the 2007 MLS Superdraft, but decided to sign with the Puerto Rico Islanders for the upcoming season.
