Edwin Miranda was born in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador on January 28, 1981. He is a Salvadoran-American soccer player who played four year of collegiate soccer at Cal State, Northridge, where he was twice named Big West Conference Defender of the Year. After graduating, Miranda was drafted 54th overall by the Dallas Burn in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft. Miranda however, played for the Portland Timbers in 2004, 2005, and the beginning of 2006 season before joining the Puerto Rico Islanders.
