Ortiz played with Club Quintana achieving many championships.  Due to his excellent physical condition and preparation, Ortiz received a scholarship from the American Military Academy.  As a member of the Puerto Rico's National Team, he trained with a variety of professional teams from Brazil.  By 2004, he became part of the Puerto Rico Islanders.  His performance in 2005 was excellent, which is expected to repeat in 2006.
