Professional Experience and Honors:
2004: Williams returned to Richmond for the first season since 1995, after spending eight seasons in Major League Soccer.  In his fourth season with the Kickers, he recorded two goals and three assists for seven points and appeared in 30 games.  As captain, the experienced veteran added strength and leadership to the midfield and was named to the 2004 All A-League Second Team for the first time. 
2003 & 2001: Williams logged 2,337 minutes in 26 games with the MetroStars in 2003.  Over two seasons with the MetroStars, he totaled over 4,000 minutes in 47 games played accumulating four points. 
2002, 2000-1996: With the inception of Major League Soccer in 1996, D.C. United acquired Williams, where he played through the 2000 season.  In the nation’s capital, Richie helped guide United to three MLS Cup Championships (1996, 1997, 1999), as well as the “Double” in 1996 with a U.S. Open Cup title.  Over his career with D.C. United, Williams played a total of 169 games for 45 points.  
1995-1993: A member of the Richmond Kickers for its first three seasons (1993-1995), Williams tallied four goals and eight assists in 1995 to help lead the team to the “Double” with the Kickers only two championships, a USISL Premiership title and the U.S. Open Cup Championship

International Experience and Honors:
The defensive center midfielder made his debut on the U.S. Men’s National Team in 1998 and has played a total of 15 games in four seasons (1998-2001).  He won a bronze medal with the 1999 squad at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Mexico. 

Personal:
A graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in Sociology, Williams won two NCAA titles with the Cavaliers in 1989 and 1991.
