In 2004, helped the Impact play 12 straight games without a loss (8-0-4), a club record, and go on to win the championship title... Over the winter, passed on offers from Major League Soccer’s DC United and New England Revolution, deciding instead to continue his career in Montreal… Helped the Impact finish first in overall standings in 2003, tied with the Milwaukee Wave United... In 2002, helped the team finish first in the Northeast Division, tied with the Rochester Raging Rhinos... Kicked off his USL career with the Rochester Rhinos in 2000 and played there a second season, in 2001... Won the championship title in each of those two seasons... Originally from Montreal’s South Shore...
INTERNATIONAL Was invited to the Canadian World Cup team’s training camp held January 12-23, 2004 in Fort Lauderdale, following the hiring of Frank Yallop as new head coach... That was his first invitation at that level... Played his first game with Canada January 18, 2004 against Barbados... Helped his team come up with a 1-0 shutout win... Played against Guatemala September 8, 2004 in World Cup qualifying game… Played an international friendly against Northern Ireland February 9, 2005 in Belfast where he received two yellow cards and was ejected…
2002 SEASON Was picked on the Team of the Week following the 8th week of activity... Was chosen Impact Defensive Player of the Year at the end of the season... Was also picked on the first all-star team... Helped the Impact post the league’s fourth best defence, with 29 goals allowed in 28 games... Was the team’s busiest player with 2,609 minutes played... Was the only Impact player to start each of the team’s 28 games, giving him the team record for most games started in a season... Only missed a total of 37 minutes of play, having played all the games in their entirety except the August 23 match-up in Calgary, the 26th game of the season in 2002... Was then replaced by Nevio Pizzolitto at the 53rd minute of play... In the league, only Toronto’s Robbie Aristodemo was busier with 2,617 minutes of play... Was also the Impact most productive defender offensively with two goals in the regular season... In the first playoff round, scored one of his team’s six goals in a shootout that followed the home-and-home series against the Charlotte Eagles... The shootout, won 6-5 by the Impact, put the team into the second round... Was named Player of the Year in the province of Quebec at the Quebec Soccer Federation’s Gala de la Mi-Temps year-end banquet...
2003 SEASON Was picked on the Team of the Week following the fifth week of activity... Was named Defender of the Year in the league... Was proclaimed the Impact’s Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season... Was also picked on the first all-star team for a second straight year... Was the leader of the best defence in the league in 2003, with 21 goals allowed in 28 games... Was one of five Impact players to finish the season with over 2,000 minutes played... Helped the Impact post the best road record in the league (10-3-1)...
2004 SEASON Was the backbone of an Impact defensive line that allowed only 15 goals in 28 games during the regular season… Contributed to the team’s stretches of eight straight shutouts and 773 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal, two team records... Helped the team collect a total of 19 shutouts, a league record... Was named the league’s Defender of the Year for the second straight season... Was awarded the Giuseppe-Saputo Trophy as the Impact’s team MVP… Was named on the league’s first All-Star Team for a third consecutive year… Was the busiest Impact player with 2,467 minutes played… Started the 26 games he played in over the regular season… Started all five playoffs games, including the championship final which the Impact won 2-0 against the Seattle Sounders on sept. 18…
