In 2004, helped the Impact play 12 straight games without a loss (8-0-4), a club record, contributing to the team’s success on its way to the championship title... Helped the Impact finish first in overall standings in 2003, tied with the Milwaukee Wave United... In 2002, helped the team finish first in the Northeast Division, tied with the Rochester Raging Rhinos... Was chosen Youth Player of the Year in the province of Quebec in 2000 at the Quebec Soccer Federation’s Gala de la Mi-Temps year-end banquet...
INTERNATIONAL Was part of the U-20 Canadian national team that played at the FIFA Youth World Championship, November 27 to December 19, 2003 in the United Arab Emirates... The tournament was supposed to be held in March 2003, but was delayed due to the war in Iraq... Helped Canada reach the second round of the U-20 Worlds for the second time of its history at that level... Played in the US Soccer Festival with Canada’s U-20 team, July 22 to August 3, 2003... The tournament was preparation for the World Championship... In November 2002, at the CONCACAF U-20 qualifying tournament in Charleston, South Carolina, played in all three of Canada’s games... Played the first two as a sub, the last one as a starter... In 2001, helped Canada reach the quarterfinal round at the Francophone Games in Ottawa... Was also captain of Canada’s U-17 team...
2002 SEASON At age 18, won the Impact’s Unsung Hero Award... Used as a defender and a winger, helped the Impact post the fourth best defence in the league, with 29 goals allowed in 28 games... As a rookie, played 24 games and started 19... Spent a total of 1,839 minutes on the field, the highest total among the team’s four Canadian rookies in 2002... Was also one of 11 Montreal players to finish the season with over 1,500 minutes played... Was the team’s most productive rookie with one goal and one assist... Picked up his first career point July 3, an assist in a 4-1 loss to the Cincinnati Riverhawks.. Scored his first career goal, a game winner, July 17 in a 2-1 win against the Vancouver Whitecaps in Montreal...
2003 SEASON Helped the Impact post the best defence in the league, with 21 goals allowed in 28 games... Helped the Impact tally the best road record in the league (10-3-1)... Was one of 11 Impact players to finish the season with over 1,500 minutes played, playing a total of 1720 minutes...
2004 SEASON Tore the ACL in his right knee June 13 in Calgary… Was out of the lineup for the rest of the season… Started the first nine games of the season for 844 minutes of play… Had an assist June 11 in Vancouver on Antonio Ribeiro’s goal…. And another on Fred Commodore’s goal in a 2-0 win over Calgary, a few minutes before suffering his knee injury… Underwent more surgery to his right knee during the off-season following a meniscus injury that occurred during training…
2005 SEASON On the opening day of training camp, April 1st, signed a three-year contract with the Impact… |
