Played at Brighton High School … coached by Tom Cushing and Russell Boyer … led the Bengals to the 1999 Utah 5A Championship … was named the Salt Lake Tribune 5A MVP and first-team all-state by the Deseret News… was named academic all-state as a senior… was a four-year letterman and served as team captain for two seasons … was all-region for two seasons and region midfielder MVP … was the second leading scorer during junior and senior years … played for the Sparta ’81 Club Team … coached by Ed Nielson.

Born on June 22, 1981 in Salt Lake City, Utah … parents are Douglas and Michiko Matsumori … married to Rebecca Church Matsumori … served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan … majoring in exercise science and is working toward a career in dentistry … was a senior and sophomore class officer in high school … was a member of the National Honor Society … lived in Japan for five years and speaks fluent Japanese… lists Japanese as his favorite type of food … named after Devin Durrant, a former BYU basketball player … teaches Japanese at the Missionary Training Center … enjoys singing, playing Uno and eating.
