The Dayton Dutch Lions FC have had a strong start to the 2013 season, winning two out of their first three games against formidable competition. Dayton hopes to keep the momentum going against the Charleston Battery, when it hosts the defending USL PRO champions at Beavercreek Stadium on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Time is winding down before the Victoria Highlanders finally face-off against the Kitsap Pumas on Saturday evening at Royal Athletic Park in the opening game of the 2013 PDL season. To date the Highlanders have a record of 3-1-4 against the Pumas, a team that has been very competitive in the Northwest Division since its inception in 2009, the same year the Highlanders joined the league.

The Wilmington Hammerheads will return to Legion Stadium on Friday night for their second home match of the season after suffering two defeats on the road last weekend in Los Angeles and Phoenix. The Hammerheads, with only three matches under their belt this season, are set to take on the Richmond Kickers at 7:30 p.m.

The Great Lakes Division was the home to the PDL’s regular-season champion, the Michigan Bucks, and the PDL Champion, FC London, in 2012, with the standard of competition among the highest in the league. Just 10 points separated the second-placed team and bottom team in the division, with tightly-fought games a calling card that is likely to continue on into the new season.

After a sluggish first half, the Sounders Women netted three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 victory against Seattle Pacific University. All three Sounders goals came from second-half substitutes.
