With a 40-minute delay due to shootouts of the previous match, the sun was setting and the scoreboard came alive as the Houston Leones set out to extinguish the undefeated flame of the Mississippi Brilla. The Leones came out strong, clearly dominating the field in the first half by maintaining possession of the ball. Mississippi seemed surprised and soon realized they would need to reevaluate their game-plan against the underdog. First half came to a close and the scoreboard remained nil-nil.
