Professional Experience and Honors:

2008: Sidelined with a long-term injury during the 2008 season, he made just five appearances, recording one assist for the RailHawks of the USL First Division. 

2007: An integral part of the 2007 inaugural RailHawks roster, Worthen played in 22 regular season matches tallying three goals and one assist. 

2006: The 6’1” native of Salt Lake City, UT signed with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer following the 2005 season where he played 29 minutes in three appearances.  His brief stint in MLS led to two seasons with the Carolina RailHawks. 

2005: Hampered with injury for most of the 2005 season, Worthen started 13 of 16 games played in his second season with the Kickers.  He recorded three goals this season including the game-winner in the Kickers 2-1 victory over Virginia Beach on April 22nd and a 65th minute header in the first leg of the USL First Division Semi-Finals, giving Richmond a 3-1 advantage over the Rochester Raging Rhinos.

2004: An offensive threat on the left side of the field, Joey was the Kickers leading point scorer in the first third of the 2004 season and finished the season tied for fourth in points (13) and goals scored (5).  Starting 26 of 30 games played, Worthen was an USL-1 Team of the Week selection for two consecutive weeks early in the season (4/26/04, 5/03/04).   

2003: Worthen played in 23 games for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds scoring one goal and notching two assists for three points total. 

2002: Worthen was drafted by the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the second round of USL-1 College Draft and led the team in minutes with 2247 in 28 games.  He was the only player to appear in all 28 games, leading the team in assists (7).  He was named Riverhounds Rookie of the Year.

College Experience and Honors:

At South Carolina, Worthen was named to NSCAA All-South First Team in 2001.  He scored 25 goals and notched 15 assists over four seasons and led the Gamecocks to a 12-5-2 record in 2001.  He played for the under-20 National Team in 1999 and has PDL experience after playing 14 games for the Cape Cod Crusaders.
