SILVER SPRING, MD -- After, a successful tryout for local players to kick off it’s search for the 2010 team, the Monarchs have released the next set of tryout dates for the professional team. Four to five players from the initial tryout have been invited back to the tryouts for national and international players.
The Monarchs are pleased to announce that the next set of tryouts will be held on Saturday, December 5th and Sunday, December 6th. Trialists must participate in both days of tryout sessions in order to be considered for the team. Sign-in begins at 12:00 pm with the training running from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm each day.
There will be discounted lodging provided by the Holiday Inn of Gaithersburg, MD. Please mention you will be staying there for the Real Maryland FC Tryouts.
Tryouts will be held at Richard Montgomery High School on both days. Lester Stadium is the home field of the Real Maryland FC Monarchs. To sign up for tryouts, please visit the team tryout section at www.realmaryland.us/html/tryouts.html. Space will be limited to the first 50 applicants who provide all proper registration materials and fees.
The Monarchs are proud of their successful 2009 Campaign with the professional team, making the USL Second Division’s playoffs. In addition to the professional team doing well, the Real Maryland FC Super Y-League Program was ranked number five in the Mid-Atlantic Region this past season as well. It was the first year of play for four out of the five Super Y-League teams in 2009.
Tryouts for all 2010 Super Y-League Teams will take place on November 8th and information can be found on the tryout page. Please be on the lookout for more tryout dates for the new Real Maryland FC Travel Teams for ages 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13. These will be announced soon.
