PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds host Crystal Palace Baltimore in their final United Soccer Leagues Second Division game of the season Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Chartiers Valley Stadium in Bridgeville.

Along with capping the 2009 campaign, Saturday marks Fan Appreciation Night, during which those in attendance could win great prizes including Riverhounds gear.

The Hounds' chase for one of the final berths in the USL-2 postseason came to an end last Saturday when Charlotte claimed a 3-1 result. Jeff Hughes scored the Riverhounds' lone goal of the match in the very first minute, but Pittsburgh had to play two men down for most of the second half due to player send-offs.

Pittsburgh is 5-10-4 (19-points) after 19 games and in 8th place in the USL-2. CP Baltimore is 6-8-5 (23-points).

Palace is also out of the playoff chase. They cannot finish any higher than sixth, so both sides will be playing for pride.

It is also Riverhounds Youth Academy Night. All Academy kids will be invited onto the pitch before the game to lead both pro sides out for the match. Among the Academy participants will be approximately 40 campers from the Lawrenceville section of the City of Pittsburgh. A Lenzner bus will transport them to and from the stadium courtesy of the Riverhounds and Soccer In The Community – Lawrenceville Camp Day, a program generously underwritten by Bayer USA Foundation.

Each member of the Lawrenceville contingent will also receive food and a special event T-shirt. The program was created by James Meara and Mark Taylor of Soccer In The Community and proudly supported by the Bayer USA Foundation’s Dana Scarpino.
