KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Minnesota Lightning are subjecting their opponents to their fierce offensive presence with another solid win over Kalamazoo Outrage 5-0.
The Lightning is finishing the 2009 campaign strong by shutting out the past four opponents and winning each match by at least four goals.
The Lightning plays their final match of the regular season on Saturday, July 18 when they visit the Cleveland Internationals.
Their postseason hopes are in the hands of Chicago Red Eleven because if they finish the season leading the W-League, the Lightning advances as well.
"We moved the ball well and finished chances," said Lightning defender Megan Almanzo. "We played defensive well in all three games. We had four shut outs to show for it."
The Lightning is playing at the top of their game and tonight's game fell in suit. This was the fourth game in a row that Minnesota blanked their opponent. The team advanced the ball well and played as a team. The Lightning's offensive and defense played in sync but Kalamazoo could not get anything going.
