Anthony Peters, from Baton Rouge, is the second player from the Capitals playing professionally as he signed with DC United of the MLS in early March.
The first was Joseph Lapira, from Lake Charles and past Hermann Trophy winner (Notre Dame University), who is playing professionally in Europe since he graduated.
After finishing his second successful season with the Capitals, team owner and Anthony's agent, James Vilas, got Anthony into the USL men's showcase where he was invited to train with the reigning MLS champs, Columbus Crew in Bradenton, FL.
While there, he played against some other MLS teams including DC United who asked Anthony to join them in training against the USL1 team in Puerto Rico. After a successful showing, he has signed on the full roster with DC United as number 12.
Let's keep an eye on our Capitals players as they make their mark on the world soccer scene. Who knows who'll be next...maybe you.
