BALTIMORE, MD - Mayor Sheila Dixon’s pitch to bring professional soccer’s D.C. United to town isn’t stopping the city’s existing minor-league soccer club’s effort to build its own stadium. Baltimore is home to zero soccer stadiums now. But Crystal Palace FC USA is close to finalizing a deal with a North Carolina development team to build a 7,000-seat soccer stadium by as early as 2012 in the Carroll Camden Industrial Area near M&T Bank Stadium.
