TAMPA, FL -- Former USL Second Division champion Neil Hlavaty of the 2008 Cleveland City Stars has signed with Polish first division club Jagiellonio Bialystok, according to Arch Bell of yanks-abroad.com.

The Illinois native made the move after meeting former Polish star Tomasz Frankowski, who helped with recommendations back in his native Poland after departing with the Chicago Fire, where the two met.

Frankowski, the three-time Polish league scoring leader and nine-time league and cup champion, returned to his hometown club, where he began his career, and helped bring Hlavaty on board with the club currently in an injury crisis.

Hlavaty finished the 2008 campaign in Cleveland with three assists in his 15 appearances during the regular season. He came off the bench in all three playoff games during the clubs run to the championship.

Prior to leaving school after his junior year, Hlavaty spent two seasons with the Chicago Fire side in the Premier Development League, logging four goals and four assists in 15 games in 2007 after making eight appearances with one assist in 2006.
