Thunder Bay Chill Press Release - www.thunderbaychill.com

Saturday, July 11

Thunder Bay, ON – In front of a full house at Chapples Park, the Thunder Bay Chill and St. Louis Lions played to a 0-0 draw. The goalless result means that Chill keeper Steven Paterson has extended his shutout streak to five straight games.

In what was a battle from the start, the two teams traded scoring opportunities throughout the game, with neither team capitalizing on any of their chances. The best chance of the game went to the Chill, when in the 11th minute Chance Bukowski was hacked down in the box earning his team a penalty. Christian Fernandes stepped up and rang the penalty off the post, squandering an opportunity to take the lead.

With both teams fighting for playoff positions, the second game of the weekend series was a choppy affair. The game saw four Chill players cautioned; Shaun Francis, Nolan Intermoia, Anthony Putrus, and Marcos Silva were all shown yellow.

The Chill return to action against the Rochester Thunder, the two-game series will be the Chill’s final games of the regular season.

The games will take place at Chapples Park, Thunder Bay, on Wednesday, July 15th, and Thursday, July 16th, kicking off at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
