TORONTO - The Toronto Lynx Premier Soccer Academy announced today that they will hold spring open tryout sessions on Sunday, April 19 and Sunday, April 26 outdoors on the turf fields at Downsview Park (The Hangar). The Lynx coaching staff will be evaluating high-level talent in preparation for the Toronto Lynx Juniors upcoming Super Y-League and Super-20 League season and showcase tournaments.
There are roster openings in all Academy ages groups. The Toronto Lynx Juniors U15, U16 and U17 boys plus Toronto Lady Lynx Juniors U17 and U20 girls are all looking for a few elite players.Players chosen will participate in the Elite Lynx Program, training three times per week preparing for showcase tournaments in various parts of the United States. The Toronto Lynx Junior Academy places emphasis on scholarship placement through more than six showcase tournaments per year, plus Super Y-League participation. The Lynx/Lady Lynx Juniors Academy squads will participate in the Midwest Division of the Super Y-League in 2009.
Many Toronto Lynx players go on to participate in ODP (Olympic Development Program) camps in Tampa, Florida each year.
Tryout sessions will take place outdoors at the Downsview Park turf fields in Downsview. Boys U15 and girls U17 from 2-4 PM
and boys U16 and U17 from 4-6 PM. Cost for both tryout sessions is $30.00 per player.
