MLADÁ BOLESLAV, CZECH REPUBLIC – Ottawa Fury Youth graduate Mahir Hadziresic signed his first professional contract with the Czech First Division team Mladá Boleslav a few short weeks after his eighteenth birthday. The Bosnian born Hadziresic began playing with Mladá ’s U19 side in June, but has quickly made the jump to the first team.
“Everyone at the Fury is thrilled for Mahir,” said John Pugh, Ottawa Fury Owner and CEO. “We recognized when he joined our program at the U13 level that he was a special talent. He has worked very hard to earn this success and we will follow his progress with pride.”
Hadziresic joined the Fury at age thirteen playing in USL’s Super Y-League from U14-U17. During his four years with the Fury, Mahir led his teams to the Super Y-League North American Finals in Tampa, Florida twice. He also starred on two Super Y-League New England Division championship teams.
Hadziresic won a US National Cup Regional Championship with a birth in the US National Cup Finals in Virginia Beach and a third place finish at the prestigious Foyle Cup in Northern Ireland. Mahir was also selected as a member of USL’s Super Y-League Olympic Development Program (ODP) in Florida in both 2007 and 2008.
