OTTAWA, ONT – Despite having finished their Super Y-League season, the Ottawa Fury U14 girls took to the field this past weekend to participate in the Ottawa Royals "Kickin' in the Capital" tournament. Playing up an age level, the U14’s shown well. The team amassed a group-stage best 3-0-1 record before bowing out in the semifinals versus the Kanata Lightning after a nail-biting 1-0 defeat.

A prospective Super Y-League team in 2010, the Fury’s U12 team finished in first place of the tournament after a close 1-0 win over the Whitby Iroquois in the finals.

The Fury’s U14 girls finished the 2009 Super Y-League season with a record of 7-4-1 in the New England Division, narrowly missing out on a North American Finals bid. The top two teams, Seacoast United out of New Hampshire and the MPS Renegades out of Massachusetts accounted for all four of Ottawa’s losses during the regular season. The Fury U14’s were coached by Jarrod Beattie.
