NEW HAMPSHIRE – On Saturday, May 2 the New Hampshire Phantoms of United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League officially kick off the 2009 season when they host the New Jersey Rangers on the campus of the Southern New Hampshire University. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

“[We] are coming off a preseason that showed a lot of promise from its younger players,” said Phantoms Head Coach Jim DeDeus. “We have a good mixture of talent and it should make for a very interesting season.”

The Phantoms also finalized their roster with the signing of veteran Kyle Urso, Dan Cripe (Raymond, NH) and newcomers Brad Hilton (Merrimack, NH), Sean Coleman (Stratum, NH), and Chris Banks, all from the University of New Hampshire. The Phantoms also added Baran Doenmez from Clarke University (Dublin, NH). All players are pending approval from the USL and the US Soccer Federation.

These most-recent signings bring the total number of Phantom’s players from the state of New Hampshire to 15, the most ever for the Phantoms. The majority of the 15 New Hampshire players are also former members of the New Hampshire Phantoms youth program, which fields numerous teams in USL’s Super Y-League each season.

All players, from any club, wearing their jerseys will receive free admission to Saturday’s game. All adult tickets will be special priced for the home opener at $5.00. Regular season prices will be $7.00 for adults and $3.00 per child. Prior to the game from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. a clinic will be held for any child under the age of 14 to be coached by the New Hampshire Phantoms players. Please bring you own ball.

Following Saturday’s game the Phantoms will be on the road for the next four games before returning home on Friday, May 22 to host the Ocean City Barons.
