PLAINVIEW, NY – Former Rough Riders defender Laurent Manuel has signed a deal to play with KV Oostende of the Belgian Second Division. Manuel is the third Rough Rider this year to take their game to Europe.

“We are proud to see yet another Rough Rider take their game to Europe this summer," said Rough Riders General Manager Flavio Ferri. "Laurent was a valuable member of our defense this past season. We are eager to follow his progress in Belgium.”

The Brown University alum appeared in 11 games, playing 769 minutes with the Rough Riders this season as a member of the PDL's second-best defense.

In January, forward Mike Grella began a trial with English League One side Leeds United and last month inked a three-year deal with the club. Last week, forward Mike Palacio signed with FK Radnicki Obrenoavof Serbia.
