KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Thunder Bay Chill have continued their winning ways by beating the Kansas City Brass 3-0, and earning goalkeeper Steven Paterson his second shutout in as many games.

Two tallies for Fernandes

The Chill put on another dominating performance in the third game of their four game road trip, and have inched that much closer to securing a spot in the playoffs.

The Chill put the pressure on the Brass early, and was rewarded with an early lead. After winning a penalty shot, Christian Fernandes slotted home the ball, giving the Chill a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.

In the 21st minute, Fernandes continued his scoring ways for the Chill, scoring on a free kick from just outside the box.

Kansas City was reduced to ten men in 43rd minute after the Chill’s Wilson Neto was elbowed, and the Curt McDonald was shown red.

Marcos Silva put the game out of reach in the 90th minute, after firing home a bullet from the top of the box.

With all the momentum in their favour, the Chill now set their sights on Saturday’s game against the undefeated Des Moines Menace. Game will take place 8:30 p.m. (EDT) on Saturday, July 4th, at Des Moines’ Valley Stadium. The Chill should not be counted out, despite early season troubles against the Menace. After all, they are the defending champions, and have their sites set on the Menace.
