THUNDER BAY, ON -- On a foggy wet Friday night at Chapples Park the Thunder Bay Chill defeated the Real Colorado Foxes with some last minute heroics, earning the Chill a 2-1 victory. In what is quickly becoming one of the league’s biggest rivalries, the Chill came back from a 1-0 deficit with two late goals to steal a win right from under the noses of the current division leaders.

After a scoreless half, the Foxes came out flying in the second half, and converted early pressure into a goal in the 46th minute by Chris Salvaggione.

The goal was a wake up call for the Chill, and for the rest of the half the majority of play was in the Foxes end of the pitch. With Real Colorado on their heels the Chill conjured up many scoring opportunities, but were unable to convert.

The Chill finally got the break they were working for, when in the 81st minute Nolan Intermoia earned a penalty kick that Christian Fernandes put away to tie the game at 1-1.

The Chill kept the pressure on and were rewarded late, as after a scramble in front of the net, Anthony Putrus put the ball in the back of the net in the 92nd minute, securing the victory for the Chill.

The Chill will look to sweep the weekend series, Saturday June 20th at 7:30 p.m. at Chapples Park.
