“Kick for the Cause”
Next FC LONDON home game: July 12th

Forest City London in coordination with Braz for the Cause announces that the next FC LONDON home game will be played in conjunction with fundraising activities in the fight against Breast Cancer in an event themed as “KICK FOR THE CAUSE”.. TD Waterhouse stadium (University of Western Ontario) will be the site of FC LONDON’s next home game against Fort Wayne Fever, and the game will be turned into a pink themed event for Sunday, July 12th at 3:30. Events surrounding the game and profits from various activities will be in support of “Braz for the Cause” directly supporting breast cancer patients through the the Massel-Cruikshank Breast Cancer Assistance Fund at the London Regional Cancer Program..

Forest City London competes in the Great Lakes Division of the Premier Development League, a 68 team North American wide league featuring amateur players Under 23, all of whom play in the league in the summer, hoping to get spotted for the professional draft next spring. The team currently sit at the top of the Great Lakes Division and started the season with 11 games undefeated, a record in North America for new franchise teams. Made up of both local London players and international players who are in London for the summer, the team is in its inaugural year and has captured the attention of soccer fans young and old in London and area.

As part of their stay in London, the team regularly attends fundraising activities to promote causes such as the one that the team will be supporting next weekend. Events will include a Pink Soccer Ball Kick, pink hair braids, FC LONDON face-painting and tattoos, special information tents, music, special presentations and draws, and ways for fans to assist in fundraising events. Forest City London will be asking all fans attending the game to dress in pink and show your support for breast cancer awareness.

Immediately following the game the commemorative pink game jerseys will go live for auction on www.FCLONDON.ca .  These official UMBRO jerseys will be laundered, autographed and available for sale with all proceeds going to Braz for the Cuase.  Online bidding for fan-favourite jerseys actually worn in the game will be auctioned through an E-Bay store specifically set up for this event.

Forest City London looks to continue their rise through the standings with a win next Sunday at 3:30 at TD Waterhouse Stadium against Fort Wayne. About Braz for the Cause
Monies raised by Braz for the Cause directly support breast cancer patients through the Massel-Cruikshank fund by way of the Breast Cancer Patient Support Services at the London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP). This includes but is not limited to: child care, anti-pain and nausea medication not covered by insurance, taxi fares, parking, wigs, prostheses and palliative care. Anything that improves the quality of life of the individual with breast cancer will be given consideration.
