As a player, McAllister was a captain at Bellevue Community College, where he played in 2 NWAACC State Championships. Drafted by the Seattle Sounders in the 2nd round in 1984, he started his professional career in the NASL as a reserve team player, finishing up with Seattle when the league folded in 1986. He played a year with F.C. Seattle and then had a brief stint with the St. Louis Steamers of the MISL before moving out-doors again with the Yakima Reds in 1996. Founder and Director of the Bob McAllister Soccer ACADEMY. McAllister has taken his coach ing career to the college ranks as an assistant at Western Washington University, after two years he left to focus on youth development through the Selah Parks and Recre ation programs, before becoming a coach with the Reds.
