Bio: Burke Slusher is in his seventh year as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach with the Kansas City Brass of the Premier Development League. In that same time the Brass has improved their record in 5 of the past 6 PDL seasons and has qualified for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (2007). Today the KC Brass is considered one of the nation’s top amateur teams for players with professional soccer ambition. In the past six years 24 KC Brass players have been drafted or signed professionally by clubs in Europe, Major League Soccer, USL-1 or the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Slusher also coached the two time 87/88 Missouri State Cup champion KC Pace boys team with fellow KC Brass coaches Jefferson Roblee and Lincoln Roblee. Slusher has been a guest instructor at various events including the KC Skills Camp, All Northland Camp and ODP training sessions. Slusher was also a guest goalkeeper instructor at the Wizards Youth Training Program in 2003 and 2004.
Slusher attended North Kansas City High School where he played for Dave Valesquez. He also was a member of the Missouri/Kansas City ODP team. After earning numerous honors at NKC, Slusher moved on to Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State University) where he tended goal for the NCAA Division I Bears under coaches Jan Stahle and Tom Howe. |
