PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC notched goals in either half by Kevin Kerr and Mouhamed Dabo and recorded a third consecutive shutout in a 2-0 preseason victory against the University of Charleston (W.Va.) on Friday night at Highmark Stadium.

Kerr struck first in the 21st minute, scoring off a ball from fellow midfielder Christiano François across the penalty area. The goal marked the Hounds veteran’s first of the preseason and François’ second consecutive game in finding the scoresheet.

The Black and Gold potted one more tally before the end of the night as former Penn FC midfielder Dabo found space inside the penalty area before sending his shot past the Charleston goalkeeper into the back of the net in the 59th minute.

On the defensive end, goalkeepers Dan Lynd and Mike Kirk combined for the clean sheet. Pittsburgh has not allowed a goal in its past 286 minutes of preseason action.

In the Hounds’ victory, 2012 USL Golden Boot winner Dennis Chin made his debut after being unveiled as the club’s latest signing, coming on as a substitute for Romeo Parkes in the 70th minute.

Moving its record to 4-0 in preseason play, Riverhounds SC has a quick turnaround, as it will host the University of Akron at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
