ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Wednesday the signing of forward Kyle Greig for the 2018 season, pending league and federation approval. The veteran forward joins an attacking corps that also includes returning striker Christian Volesky and new signing Corey Hertzog, having previously scored 36 goals in his USL career.

“I'm ecstatic to join STLFC for the upcoming season and thank the club and coaching staff for the opportunity,” said Greig. “After speaking with Anthony, I've seen the club has very high ambitions for this season and beyond and I'm excited to be a part of that future. I would also like to thank my wife and family for their unwavering support.”

Greig arrives from Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he played for the side in both MLS and the CONCACAF Champions League over the past two seasons. The 27-year-old also spent time in the 2017 season on loan with FC Cincinnati, having previously helped Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 reach the Western Conference Final of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs with 11 goals in the campaign.

A former PDL standout for the Kansas City Brass, Greig began his professional career in the USL with Wilmington Hammerheads FC in 2013 before making the move to OKC Energy FC the following year. While with Energy FC he recorded 16 goals in 51 appearances for the club, helping OKC reach the USL Cup Playoffs in both seasons before making the move to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 prior to the 2016 season.

“I’m really pleased with the addition of Kyle,” said STLFC Head Coach Anthony Pulis. “He’s a player with a lot of experience at the USL and MLS level and is a different type of forward than the other ones on the roster with his big, physical presence leading the line. It gives the forwards more competition but also he’s a fantastic person with great morals that should add value to the group.”
