INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Wednesday it had signed former Sporting Kansas City forward and Lebanese international Soony Saad, pending league and federation approval.

“Soony is a dynamic attacking player who has a wealth of experience in MLS play as well as with the Lebanese National Team,” Indy Eleven Head Coach Martin Rennie said. “He’s a significant, high-caliber signing for our club that brings top tier success on the pitch, but is still young and has a bright career ahead of him.

Saad joined SKC prior to the 2011 MLS season, and recorded eight goals in 58 appearances across his first four seasons as Sporting claimed both the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2012, and MLS Cup in 2013.

In 2016, Saad joined for Thai League 1 side Pattaya United on loan from Police Tero FC, where he scored nine goals in 28 appearances. Saad made his return to SKC last season, making a total of 12 appearances and tallying a single assist, while also scoring one goal in two appearances on loan for the Swope Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old has also made eight appearances for Lebanon on the international stage, scoring three goals. Saad had previously competed for both the U.S. U20 and U17 National Team.
