MELBOURNE, Fl. – Saint Louis FC drew 1-1 against Florida International University (FIU) in the club’s second and final preseason game in Melbourne, Florida.  The team will return to St. Louis this week before facing SIUE at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park on Saturday, February 24th at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Saint Louis FC and FIU played four periods of 30 minutes each and STLFC opened the scoring through Christian Volesky in the 20th minute of the first period.  FIU equalized with 12 minutes remaining in the final period and the game would finish level despite numerous chances for STLFC throughout the match.

"All the players put in a fantastic shift again today," said Anthony Pulis, STLFC Head Coach. "This trip has been extremely demanding both physically and mentally for the players and the staff. The application, commitment, and work ethic everyone has shown has been first class. They will have a couple of days to recover and we will now focus on managing their training load accordingly to make sure they are fresh for the games as their minutes will now increase the closer we get to Rio Grande Valley on March 16th."

"I'd like to thank Jim Kavanagh, Tom Strunk, Patrick Barry and Jeremy Alumbaugh for allowing us to have this 12-day camp," added Pulis. "Also thanks to Jeff Carr and everyone at Eastern Florida State College for allowing us the use of their excellent facilities."
