OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC and FC Dallas of Major League Soccer announced on Wednesday the renewal of the partnership agreement between the clubs for the 2018 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, which enters its third season, Energy FC will provide opportunities for FC Dallas signings to play in Oklahoma City to continue their development both on and off the field. In addition, Energy FC and FC Dallas continue to share best practices to assist both organizations in their continued growth.

“I recently went to FC Dallas and was pleased with their willingness to work with our club for the 2018 season,” said Energy FC Head Coach Steve Cooke. “They are in agreement with our vision for our club and we look forward to providing their up-and-coming players the opportunity to play with our club. I’m also looking forward to collaborating again with Oscar in an effort to make both of our clubs better.”

The renewal of the agreement also marks the second time Energy FC Head Coach and Technical Director Steve Cooke has worked with FC Dallas Head Coach Oscar Pareja. Cooke served as an assistant coach on Pareja’s staff with the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer prior to Pareja’s arrival at FC Dallas ahead of the 2014 MLS season.

As part of the agreement, Energy FC will train at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas on February 7 and will play the FC Dallas reserves in a preseason exhibition on February 8. The match is at 10 a.m.

“Oklahoma City is a first-class organization,” said FC Dallas Technical Director Fernando Clavijo. “We have sharpened our methods, working together the past two seasons, to maximize player growth. We are excited to expand on our progress this season.”
