INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Friday it had signed Canadian international Karl Ouimette, bolstering the club’s defense as it prepares for its first season in the USL.

“I’m excited to join Indy Eleven for the 2018 season. It’s a club that is very professional and has great ambitions,” said Ouimette. “The fans there are dedicated and will support us all year. I can't wait to start working with our experienced coaching staff to set the foundations for a successful season.”

Ouimette has made 18 appearances for Canada in his career, having turned professional as a Homegrown signing with the Montreal Impact ahead of the club’s first season in Major League Soccer in 2012. Ouimette also competed for the New York Red Bulls for a pair of seasons before arriving at the San Francisco Deltas in 2017, where he claimed a championship while making 23 appearances for the club.

“Karl is a powerful and fast defender,” said Indy Head Coach Martin Rennie. “But he’s also versatile, which is why I’m looking forward to trying him in multiple positions.”

The club also announced the addition of goalkeeper Jordan Farr, who arrives for his rookie professional season after featuring in the Premier Development League for the Portland Timbers U-23s last summer, and a standout career at Corban University.

“Being a professional soccer player has been my dream since I was able to walk,” said Farr. “To be playing in front of the Brickyard Battalion at Lucas Oil Stadium will be an absolute privilege and an honor. I was able to meet Martin Rennie when he spoke at my University, and I couldn't think of a better coach to play for and learn from. I am humbled and extremely grateful to play for Indy Eleven and represent the city of Indianapolis.”

Farr helped the Timbers U-23s claim the Northwest Division title last season as he made 12 appearances and recorded a 0.83 goals-against average and five shutouts in the regular season, and also made a pair of appearances in the PDL Playoffs.

Collegiately, Farr finished with the second-highest shutout total in NAIA Men’s Soccer history for the Warriors, notching 44 shutouts over four seasons, including nine in his senior season. Farr’s career goals-against average with the Warriors stood at 0.74.

“I’m excited to see what Jordan will accomplish with Indy Eleven,” said Rennie. “He’s a top goalkeeper in the NAIA and I would rate his experience just as high as any.”
