TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Friday it had acquired midfielder Ivan Mirkovic from fellow USL club Saint Louis FC. Terms of the transfer were not disclosed.

Mirkovic has made 96 appearances in the USL over the past four seasons and claimed the USL Cup in 2014 with Sacramento Republic FC. A central midfielder, the 30-year-old made 18 appearances in his lone season in Saint Louis as he recorded 26 interceptions, won 29 of 42 tackles and held an 80.6 percent pass success rate on 58.4 passes per 90 minutes.

“Ivan is a very experienced midfielder who has great leadership qualities,” said Roughnecks Head Coach David Vaudreuil. “In addition to being a strong defensive player, he will also serve as one of the focal points of our counterattack.”

Mirkovic made 50 appearances for Republic FC over two seasons (2014-15) after competing previously for the Ventura County Fusion in the Premier Development League. He also spent a season with Orange County SC in 2016, where he helped the side reach the USL Cup Playoffs, before making a move to Saint Louis last offseason.

"We thank Ivan for his contributions and time during the past year,” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, STLFC Vice President & General Manager. “We wish him the best at Tulsa next season.”
