ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rowdies announced on Tuesday another defensive addition to the club's 2018 roster with the signing of former Real Monarchs SLC fullback Max Lachowecki. Per club and league policy, further contract details were not disclosed, and the signing is pending league and federation approval.

Lachowecki, 25, is a natural left back that played the last two seasons with the Monarchs, and helped the club claim the 2017 USL Regular Season Championship. He is the second former Monarchs defender signed by the Rowdies this offseason, joining Kyle Curinga.

“I am very happy to be joining the Tampa Bay Rowdies,” said Lachowecki. “It’s an honor to get the opportunity to play for a club with such a rich and decorated history.  I look forward to putting in the hard work with the rest of the guys and to continue to make the best fans in the league proud.”

In his two seasons in Salt Lake City, Lachowecki made 60 USL appearances, logging nearly 5,000 minutes of action. A season ago, he recorded 56 interceptions and clearances, while winning both regular and aerial duels at a rate of greater than 60 percent in addition to two goals and two assists.

UGARTE RE-SIGNS WITH ROUGHNECKS: Tulsa Roughnecks FC welcomed another key returnee to its squad for the 2018 season as it announced it had re-signed Chilean defender Francisco Ugarte for his second season with the Roughnecks.

“We are very excited that Francisco is returning,” said Roughnecks Head Coach David Vaudreuil. “He provided veteran leadership and experience on and off the field last season and will be a good addition to this year’s squad.”

The 31-year-old returns after appearing in 25 matches for the Roughnecks as the club reached the USL Cup Playoffs in 2017. Prior to his arrival in Tulsa, Ugarte played for two seasons in Germany with FC Albstadt for two seasons, having previously played for TSG Balingen and VfB Stuttgart.

BATTERY BRING BACK ARAMBULA: The Charleston Battery announced the club had re-signed midfielder Ryan Arambula for the 2018 season, pending league and federation approval. A former member of the Battery Academy, Arambula will enter his second professional season with the club.

The local standout arrived at the Battery after a stellar college career at the University of South Carolina, where he made 61 appearances for the Gamecocks and recorded 12 assists and three goals. Arambula made one start in 2017 for the Battery in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, where he registered the assist on Forrest Lasso’s game-winning goal against the Atlanta Silverbacks at Silverbacks Park last May.
