PHOENIX – Phoenix Rising FC announced on Monday it had acquired Jamaican Kevaughn Frater for the 2018 season on loan from the Red Stripe Premier League’s Harbour View FC. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Frater had a standout season in 2017 on loan with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, scoring a team-leading 12 goals for the side in his second season in the USL. The Jamaican forward also notched six assists, putting him third on the team.

The 23-year-old had previously competed in the USL for Real Monarchs SLC in the 2016 season. Frater began his professional career at 16 years old with his hometown team Harbour View FC in Kingston, Jamaica. He spent three seasons with the club before going on loan to the Monarchs.
