COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC welcomed its first new addition of the offseason on Friday as it announced the signing of Canadian U23 international Jordan Schweitzer for the 2018 USL season.

The club also announced it had re-signed Guam international Shane Malcolm for his second season in Colorado Springs.

Schweitzer made 24 appearances for Orlando City B in the 2017 season and notched one goal and one assist. The central midfielder served as a key cog for OCB, recording a pass success rate of 84.9 percent on 44.9 passes per 90 minutes, and finished the season with 13 key passes.

The 23-year-old earned his first call-up to the full Canada national team last December for the country’s international exhibition against El Salvador, but was an unused substitute in the contest at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Prior to joining Orlando, Schweitzer competed for Seattle Sounders FC 2 in the 2016 USL season where he recorded 22 appearances and notched four goals for the club.

Malcolm returns to the Switchbacks after scoring five goals in 30 appearances in his first season with the club. The 26-year-old also notched three assists and 23 key passes over the regular season, and adds to an attacking corps that also includes Martin Maybin and former PDL standout Tobenna Uzo.

A native of Jamaica, Malcolm has made 20 appearances on the international stage for Guam, scoring a pair of goals since his debut in 2014.
