ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Tuesday the club had exercised contract options on defender Austin Ledbetter and midfielder Tony Walls ahead of the 2018 USL season. The signings are pending league and federation approval.

Ledbetter and Walls join goalkeeper Devala Gorrick, midfielder Ivan Mirkovic and forward Christian Volesky on the STLFC roster, with the trio of players having been previously under contract for the 2018 season. The club is also in contract negotiations with other players that competed for Saint Louis in the past season who are currently out of contract with a view to their return.

Volesky featured in 30 matches and led the team with eight goals during the 2017 season. He previously competed alongside Walls for the Rochester Rhinos where he also finished as the team’s leading goal scorer during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, including eight goals during the club’s 2015 USL Cup-winning season.

Walls joined STLFC shortly after the beginning of the 2017 season and made 23 appearances between midfield and defense. A 2015 USL Cup-winner with the Rochester Rhinos, Walls was also an All-League First Team selection that season in addition to claiming the Rhinos’ Most Valuable Player and Defender of the Year awards.

Ledbetter featured in 14 matches in defense and contributed one assist during the 2017 season. Selected in the Third Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, Ledbetter joined STLFC as an unrestricted free agent last preseason.

Gorrick played in 18 matches in the 2017 regular season, recording three shutouts and 57 saves. A 2016 USL All-League Second Team selection for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, Gorrick has made more than 70 appearances in the USL over the past three seasons across the regular season and USL Cup Playoffs.

Mirkovic was the captain of the 2017 squad and provided two assists in 18 appearances during the campaign. Before joining STLFC, he was part of the Sacramento Republic FC side that claimed the 2014 USL Cup, and has made 96 appearances in the USL over the past four seasons.
