OTTAWA – Ottawa Fury FC striker Azake Luboyera has been selected to compete for the Ugandan U20 National Team in the upcoming Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) U20 Youth Championship in Zambia that will run between December 6-16.

Luboyera has made two previous appearances with Uganda at the U20 level during the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers and has scored twice for his country.

The 19-year-old signed with Ottawa in late July and scored in his professional debut as he notched the game-winner in a 2-0 victory against Toronto FC II on July 29. The young standout is one of 10 players set to return for Fury FC’s 2018 campaign.

The Cranes will be in Group A of the 12-team tournament, drawn alongside hosts Zambia (Dec. 6), Swaziland (Dec. 10) and Malawi (Dec. 11). The three group-winners and group runner-up with the best record will advance to the semifinals.
