LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC will open its inaugural season with a bang, as the 2018 USL expansion club announced on Monday three preseason exhibitions against Major League Soccer opposition at Cashman Field this February for Soccer Spring Training.

The Montreal Impact (Feb. 10), Vancouver Whitecaps FC (Feb. 17) and D.C. United (Feb. 24) will all visit downtown Las Vegas on three consecutive Saturdays in preparation for the 2018 MLS season, while also providing Lights FC and Head Coach José Luis Sanchez Solá – ‘Chelís’ – w with a chance to build toward its first year of action in the USL.

“We made a clear commitment to bringing elite-level professional soccer to Downtown Las Vegas, and I am proud to announce that Lights FC will come out of the gates in February by doing just that,” said Lights FC Owner and CEO Brett Lashbrook. “We want the first Soccer Spring Training to be just the start of an annual tradition. We want it to grow, and be something that fans in Las Vegas can expect to see at the beginning of every season moving forward – We want Las Vegas to become the home of MLS preseason soccer, and this initial schedule sends that message loud and clear.”

Tickets for Soccer Spring Training will be included in all 2018 Las Vegas Lights FC season ticket packages, while single-game tickets are also available now through the club (702-728-GOAL) for groups of 10 or more starting at $18 a ticket. All three games will kick off at 8 p.m. PT.

“We are going to play a much more aggressive and entertaining style of soccer than most fans are accustomed to, and testing ourselves against three MLS clubs to start the season will be valuable for my team,” said Chelís. “The only way to improve is to test yourself against the best competition available. These MLS clubs will also get a true taste of what Lights FC soccer is going to be all about, and they will taste it on our turf.

“We are working very hard right now to build a strong roster to match our vision for this club, and when we take the pitch, we will need all of our fans there at Cashman Field to help us bring out our best.”
