FENTON, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Sunday evening it had mutually parted ways with Head Coach Preki as the club moves ahead to the 2018 USL Season.

Preki, the 2014 USL Coach of the Year at Sacramento Republic FC, was hired by the club in October 2016 and led Saint Louis FC to a 12th-place finish in the Eastern Conference with a 9-14-9 record.

“We thank Preki for his passion and commitment to Saint Louis FC and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Patrick Barry, STLFC President.

Saint Louis started strongly after undergoing a roster overhaul that saw only three players return from the previous season, capturing 10 points and three wins over the first four games of the season to sit in first place in the Eastern Conference early in the season, but the side claimed only six wins in its remaining 28 games to slide out of playoff contention.

STLFC has missed the USL Cup Playoffs in each of its first three seasons in the USL, with the side this year finishing in the bottom 10 in the USL this past year in both goals scored (35) and goals conceded (48).

Saint Louis FC will introduce its new head coach on Monday, November 20 at 6 p.m. CT at Westport Social located at 910 Westport Plaza Drive. The announcement will be open to the public.
