Expansion side’s second logo provides club identity, reflects region’s culture

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno FC will be hoping to have a Fox in the box when the club kicks off its inaugural season in the USL in 2018, but on Tuesday the club revealed the Fox as its official mascot and secondary logo as it paid homage to an animal indigenous to the San Joaquin Valley and known for its small stature, fierce demeanor and legendary survival instincts.

The Fox, or El Zorro in Spanish, is crafty, smart, and doesn’t back down, creating its own path to thrive — all values embedded in the culture of the Central Valley.

“We really wanted to create something that captured the spirit and attitude of the region,” said FFC General Manager Frank Yallop. “I believe, the fox is a true representation of that, with its uncanny ability to persevere in the ever-changing environment that is the San Joaquin Valley. We were inspired by its tenacity and are excited to have a symbol that reflects that in our club.”

Fresno FC’s nickname The Foxes, or Los Zorros, will be used as a secondary reference to the club in body text, or as primary reference in headlines and graphics.

Fresno FC is currently preparing for its debut in the USL, which will open in March 2018. Fans interested in season tickets can contact Fresno FC at (559) 320-2525 or visit FresnoFC.com.
