Cohen Named USL Player of the Month

Recorded six shutouts in eight games, 0.37 goals-against average in September

TAMPA, Fla. – Phoenix Rising FC goalkeeper Josh Cohen has been voted the USL Player of the Month for September of the 2017 season. Cohen recorded six shutouts in eight appearances, a 0.37 goals-against average and an 88.9 save percentage in September, as Rising FC clinched its first trip in club history to the USL Cup Playoffs on the back of an 11-game undefeated streak.

Cohen received 45 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL Technical Committee, a national panel of independent media representing every USL market and an online fan vote held at USLSoccer.com. New York Red Bulls II midfielder Florian Valot finished second with 18 percent of the vote, while Swope Park Rangers forward Kharlton Belmar took third with 16 percent.
