Ottawa Fury FC news and notes
Current record: 7-10-13, 34pts
Fury FC was held to a 1-1 draw by the Charleston Battery last Sunday afternoon at TD Place, a result that eliminated Ottawa from postseason contention.
Fury FC had taken the lead in the 16th minute through Steevan Dos Santos, and after a red card to the Battery in the 59th minute Ottawa held a man-advantage, but the Battery equalized five minutes through Heviel Cordoves from full time to grab a point and clinch its place in the playoffs.
Dos Santos' goal was his ninth of the season, which set a Fury FC single-season record for goals in the regular season. It was also a regular-season high for Dos Santos, who scored eight goals in both of his seasons with the Rochester Rhinos.
Sunday's draw with Charleston extended a 10-match winless run for Fury FC which has yet to take victory under interim Head Coach Julian De Guzman.
Ottawa will be without midfielder Jimmy Sanon on Sunday after he was named in Haiti's squad for an international exhibition against Japan this week.

FCC took a dramatic 1-0 victory against the Charlotte Independence last Friday night at the Sportsplex at Matthews as goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt saved a penalty kick in stoppage time to preserve the win for the visitors.
Cincinnati had struggled offensively for much of the match, but second-half substitute Kevin Schindler scored two minutes after coming on to provide the only goal of the game.
FCC will be without key midfielder Kenney Walker in Sunday's contest as he serves a one-game suspension after being sent off late on against the Independence.
Cincinnati is on a six-game undefeated streak, and will clinch a place in the playoffs on Sunday with a win with either Orlando City B or the New York Red Bulls II set to drop points when they meet on Saturday night.
