USL Discipline Report – Week 26

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 26 of the 2017 United Soccer League season:

[UPDATE] The Charleston Battery’s Romario Williams has been suspended for one game following his red card for violent conduct this past Saturday against the Richmond Kickers. Williams was originally handed a three-game suspension, but following a League review of the incident the sanction was reduced. Williams will be unavailable for the Battery’s game on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Independence.

Reno 1868 FC’s Dane Kelly has been suspended for one game following his red card for serious foul play against Rio Grande Valley FC, while 1868 FC Head Coach Ian Russell has been suspended for one game for being dismissed from the bench area in the same game. Both will be absent for 1868 FC’s game on Wednesday night against OKC Energy FC.

Phoenix Rising FC forward Didier Drogba has been handed a one-game suspension by the Independent Discipline Committee for kicking out during a dead-ball situation at Real Monarchs SLC's Danny Cruz in Saturday's game between the clubs. Drogba will be unavailable for Wednesday night’s game against Seattle Sounders FC 2.

Saint Louis FC’s Austin Ledbetter has been suspended for one game after being sent off this past Saturday against Orlando City B for receiving two yellow cards. Ledbetter will unavailable for STLFC’s game against FC Cincinnati on Sept. 23.

Two players have been suspended one game for caution accumulation, with the LA Galaxy II’s Alejandro Covarrubias to miss Saturday’s game against Tulsa Roughnecks FC and Bethlehem Steel FC’s Matthew Real to miss Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Orlando City B’s Zach Ellis-Hayden is no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place him on six cautions for the season.

The following 46 players enter their upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • New York Red Bulls II (3): Dan Metzger, David Abidor, Andrew Tinari

  • OKC Energy FC (1): Mickey Daly

  • Orange County SC (1): Oscar Sorto

  • Orlando City B (2): Seb Hines, Fernando Timbo

  • Ottawa Fury FC (4): Jonathan Barden, Sergio Manesio, Shane McEleney, Steevan Dos Santos

  • Phoenix Rising FC (4): JJ Greer, Didier Drogba, Kody Wakasa, Omar Bravo
